Poor gulf returnees to get pension....(Kerala)

The state government will introduce a pension scheme for NRKs who have returned.
NRK returnees who are above 60 and are economically backward would get the pension, Chief Minister Mr. Oommen Chandy said.
Inaugurating the NORKA Centre here on Friday, the Chief Minister said that the pension would be allotted from the NRK Welfare Fund.
All returnees would be enrolled in the welfare fund board. A legal cell would also be set up to extend legal assistance to those who are caught up in various cases in foreign countries.
The legal cell would work with the support of various organisations of NRKs, Mr Chandy added.
The orientation prorgamme for overseas job seekers organised by the NORKA-Roots would be extended to more places.
The functioning of the NRK cell in the police department would also be strengthened further, he said.
